For operation APACHE SNOW yes, but the hill was assaulted by 3-187 alone for several days, only at the end of the battle were more battalions brought in, including an ARVN one.

Depends, 14 of what? a platoon? a company? Hamburger Hill was conquered for the most part by the Rakkasans of 3-187 and I doubt 14 men were left from a whole battalion. The most accurate casualty count is 70 KIA and 372 WIA.

    Hamburger Hill

A fellow reader asked this question regarding the article Battle for Hamburger Hill During the Vietnam War from the June 1999 issue of Vietnam magazine:

How many men lived after the Hamburger Hill battle? I know of one person that said he took part in this battle. He had said there were only 14 left. Is that true? If so, what are there names?

    Anyone have the answer?
