  • My Quest

Hello, As my first post, let me describe the seemingly simple mission I have been on for the last 10 years or so. My fathers unit in WWII was the 529th AAA auto wpns bn battery b. Since he is deceased, all I know for sure is that it was attached to the 8th Army in the Philippines for the last month of the war, and that they also were in Japan for occupation duty until late 1945. The in-theatre dates are from his discharge papers.

Since the Fire in St Louis destroyed most of the army service records in 1973, all the NPRC can verify is that he was in service.
If anyone might know of the larger unit that the 529th AAA was attached to , I would sure appreciate some clues.

    Thanks, [email protected]
