With hindsight, the Western allies could have certainly finished Germany by mid-1944 using air power alone (6 Hamburgs), but then what? Red Army tanks in Calais? Stalin was no better than Hitler, a win-win situation would have been for the Germans and the Soviets to have fought to mutual destruction.

Stalin was better than Hitler. He didn't want to eliminate other nations while Hiltler did wanted. Hiltler's idea was to clean Europe from other nations, to turn few remaining non-Germans in semi-educated slaves and to settle Germans in new clear territories.

Poland was under German occupation 6 years (1939-1945) and the Germans eliminated 5 million Polish citizens including practically all Polish Jews.

After that Poland was pro-Soviet for 45 years (including 8 years while Stalin was alive) and now it still exists and there were no mass losses of people.

        Feel the difference.

Poland was occupied by the Soviet Union and had a pro-Soviet (Soviet installed) government. Not exactly the same thing.
