loved it: Very beautyful City, and it had very reasonable rates than,
but the service was terrible. Now the service is good and the rates are terrible. I guess you can't win.
One of my friends, who's a skating sky racer came back from a competition in
Moscow, provided me with the latest information.
    ozon.com
I tried to order from this site, but my extremely poor russian language skills
got me stuck, and I'm not sure they will ship to Canada. Did you order from Ozon before ?
I have ordered from russian based dealers before, but they had an english
    mirrorsite. Ozon probably does not.
So I have to ask Andrey again to help me out.

    About Moscow.

The people in Moscow usually get 3-5 times (!!!) more money than people in other Russian territories for the same job.

But the goods have THE SAME prices as in other Russian regions.

So Moscow is one of the most expensive cities in the Wirld of to visit casinos, restaurants and to live in the best hotels...

    About movies.

In principle it is possible to go in a shop, to buy movies and to send them to you in Canada.

    • Peregon with english subtitles

      Hi Andrey
I own a few region free DVD players, I also rent and sell them. That's why I can buy foreign movies for my customers, and create a genuine ambiance.
Please let me know about a protocol, on how we could do about.
If My previous proposal was to hasty or unappropriate, I like to apologize.
      My email: wiltvid@vianet.ca.on
I really would appreciate a friend in russia who could supply me with
russian movies, containing english subtitles, that I can not get from my international resource dealers.
I'm also really looking for those titles with english subtitles:
      1.) Esenin
(when this movie was made, I was hoping there would be a quick
western release, because it had some american actors [Gary Busey,
Sean Young as Isadoro Duncan) in it. That was 3 years ago, and still
nothing. And it is such a great and hauntingly beautyful movie.
By the way, I have the DVD, but just in russian only. 10/10
      2.) Doctot Zhivago (2006)
I own the DVD just as above, my rating is 10/10
      3.) Tikhiy Don (2006)
It has a few american actors in it, Guy Ritchie as Gregory for example.
It's out on DV, but again no english subtitles.
I own the original one from 1957 (RUSCICO) with an awful english
voiceover, so I prefer to read the english subtitles.
I prefer the german VHS set (Taurus 1988 release), which is dubbed in
      german.
      4.) Master i Margarita (2005)
5.) Dety Arbat (Chidren of Arbat) (2006)
      with Chulpan Khamatoseva

      • Nine Lives of Nestor Machnov

A great movie about the russian civil war, and a chapter that westeners
know very little about: The Anarchist movement 1918 - 1921.
Nestor Machnow was the most powerful anarchist leader during the russian
revolution, with a standing army, larger than the red army.
First allied with the red army, later becomming a bitter enemy.
A flamboyant personality with some serious character flaws:
His brother killed his beloved wife. He swore to avenge the death of his wife
(at this point he didn't know it was his brother) , but never seriously pursued to find the killer.

Russian TV showed it a year ago. I have seen it. It is really great movie.

The Russian licensed version have not got any subtitles and have got only Russian language.

              • convoy PQ 17

This movie is out now for more than 2 years, and still not posted on the imdb.
Nevertheless, I believe it is a great movie.
I loved the computeranimated ships (BS Tirpitz) and airplanes (DO 17), they looked real and authentic. The acting was great and the potrayal of the sailors real. That what my local canadian merchant-marine vets told me.
2 of them watched that movie and really loved it, despite the fact that most of the movie was spoken in russian. There where a lot of scenes spoken in english, whenever the focus was on the canadian sailors, or a lot of german, when the focus was on the submariners, the officers on deck of the Tirpitz,
the admirality or the fuhrers headquarter. The music score was great,
the battle scenes awesome: DO 17 attacking a russian harbour barge equiped with an Djaktarev MG, The Tirpitz trying to sink a russian merchant ship,
a german submarine atacking the convoy, in conjunction with a german airattack, a russian anti submarine barge attacking a german submarine.
Interesting was to see how the antiaircraft guns worked on the merchant ships, or the canon on the submarines . Some atrocities:
A german submarine, machine gunning surviving sailors from a scuttled ship.
You probably didn't like the scene, where the british HQ decided to use the convoy to lure the german surface ships into a trap. I do not know, how historically accurate that was, but you probably know more about it.
I can only speak for the technical excecution and action parts of the movie,
because I could not listen into the finer details of any conversations.
Because I do not speak russian.
I also like to mention, how beautyful the fotographie for this movie is.
Great shots of the arctic and the scenes of Halifax Harbour, Raikyavik
on iceland and of Murmansk. Tragic to see the stranded allied sailors on
the harsh barren arctic islands, starving and freezing.

If you visit restaurants, live in hotel and use taxi than more than expensive...
If you buy food in marketplace, live far from the Red Square, and travel by public conveyances than it's possible to live...

                  Just when I was born
Since that times Moscow changed much... If not that ....casinos and lots of advertisements, it would be much more beautiful

Your point is not right. Not always people in Moscow earn more money. Your words can be aplied to those, who works in companies, which are not connected with oil and gas industry.
Those people, who works in state structures (especially in state education, like me) earns the same money (if not lower) than in the countryside...

Prices are not the same, as in other regions. Food is more expensive.
When I travel outside Moscow, all prices (except transport) fell down quite quickly after crossing Moscow border...

I myself was in Moscow and a few my friends were in Moscow. Both they and I saw the same picture - the prices were app. the same as in Omsk.

Some things are even cheaper in Moscow. For example, the Omsk dealers buy computers and their parts in Moscow and, of course, increase their prices for Omsk consumers.

Hmmm... some prices in large towns can be compatible....

Yes, this is because of transport fees...
If they transported them directly from China to Omsk, prices in your place would be much less
