Some really excellent pics there, Emil. Thanks for posting that link.
"England expects that every man will do his duty!" (English crew members had better get ready for a tough fight against the combined French and Spanish fleets because that's what England expects! However, Scotland, Wales and Ireland appear to expect nothing so the Scottish, Welsh and Irish crew members can relax below decks if they like!)

Boy, what a difference the right cammo makes, eh?

To me, the shot of the old T-34 rusting away in some wilderness was the most touching (scroll down past the rest a ways).

Pulling a semi-preserved wreck out of a peat-bog is fine, but I think that the ones as shown in the pick ought to be left alone. They have earned the right to be part of the landscape. The stuff that has been going on in Bulgaria is just ridiculous!

When I was small, vacationing in the Ukraine I tried looking for some wrecks in the woods but by that time (80's) they were all removed, I did find some wrecks of 'newer' machinery, some scooters! No idea how they got there.

                What's in Bulgaria?

Any idea what program was used for colorization?

There is a long thread here, I forget where, about Bulgaria yanking a bunch of tanks out of the ground where they had been placed as bunkers after WW2. One, a Stug., was stolen, somehow, and vanished overnight.

Nope, it wsa the skin-heads. That Stug-IV was a gift from Hitler to the Queen or some such Bulgarian blue-blood. It had an engraved plate in the armor. The story was the silliest thing I heard of last year, but it happened. Now, The Bulgarian Gov't is now auctioning off the rest.

I can't find the thread, but old threads seem to vanish quickly here.

I just figured who else would be in the market for WWII era hardware...didn't the Afghans have some T-34's too?

Doubtful. I say a pic of them traversing the turret of a T-55; ten guys pushing the barrel around with their hands.

Any T-34s left there are pill-boxes, at best.
