  • Demobilization of Corps Staffs and Divisions

    Gentlemen,

I am putting together a list of every Division and Corps (plus Army Headquarters if possible) that was active on Victory Day (9 May 1945) and what their fate was.
I know some were demobilized/disbanded in mid-1945, some later in 1945 and some in 1946.
I also know some were reorganized into Tank and Mechanized Divisions starting in July 1945 and throughout the remainder of the year into 1946.

Lastly, I also know that there were Guards Rifle Divisions formed after the war using the numbers 130-136 (or higher).

I would like to know if anyone can help in this work? And I am sure the rest of us here would like to know also.

    Regards,

    Craig
