I warned everyone that would be a tough one for me.

Basically Zhukov is 4th overall on my list of the greatest:

            1. Alexander the Great
            2. Napoleon
            3. Manstein
            4. Zhukov

And 3&4 could be 3A and 3B, but I can't vote that way. If George beats Eric, no problem for me, but I don't see him as best ever.

Hehe. Nice. The thing is though, that Russia didn't have 50 years of fanboys working for them, coining such cool phrases as the "backhand blow", they just naively figured actions speak louder then words...

As I type this, Zhukov is trailing only by 2 points! And none of the people I called out voted yet! Tisk Tisk.

If the Soviets had actually let anyone read the archieves then there would have been 50 years of RKKA fanboys--it's their own dang fault.

No, the archives have nothing to do with it. Zhukov's achievenments were never secret and he and other Russian generals were paraded and praised in the Western media throughout the course of the war.
