      It's nice to see some Russian faces and expressions in the pics, I really enjoyed them. The "entertainment" of the troops on top of the tank is priceless to me, I have never seen that one, vey good!!!

          The Dmitri Baltermants photo of the people looking through the bodies at Kerch is one the greatest journalistic photos ever taken. It's cropped very tight on this page, and overexposed, but if you can see the full thing with the giant lowering sky it is an even more stunning photo. Summarizes WWII in a frame.

                Outstanding.
                As you might see from the previous posts, we in the West enjoy seeing the pics from your side that show soldiers in their "off hours", something our books seldom show. My God! They were young too.
                I must admit that I view them with a different mind set then when I see US soldiers. The incredible loss of Soviet soldiers in the war cannot help but creep into my thoughts. There is a sadness that permeates this pics.
