  • Stalin and Church

I know that russian ortodox churches were open and the bells were ringing in Moscow first time after the revolution when wermaht was near Moscow in 1941. Do You know what was relation betwen Stalin and the Church after that? I heard that he ordered for some holy ikons to by flown by planes near front line and later in Stalingrad!? Is this true or there is more in this?

      I heard about those cases.
Yep, some icon(s) flew around Moscow, Leningrad. Probably around Stalingrad.

After war relations between Stalin and the Church returned backward...
