  • Two Books by General M. S. Shumilov

    Greetings All,

    Supposedly, General M. S. Shumilov (M C Шумилов), Commander of the 64/7 Guards Army, wrote two books of memories about the battle of Stalingrad. I have been unable to find these two books. I donít even know the names of these books.

    Would anyone know where I might find online copies or even purchase them? I think they would be of much help in my research. I did look at militera.lib.ru with no luck.

    Thanks for any information on this issue.

    He wrote not books, but articles incorporated into literary miscellany, or something like this:

    1. Стойкость 64-й. ó В кн.: Битва за Сталинград. 4-е изд. Волгоград, 1973;
    2. Наступает 7-я гвардейская. ó В кн.: Впереди ó Харьков. Харьков, 1975.

    The 1st one is available in djvu format.
    The second one unfortunately is available only in printed form for sale in some bookstores. Maybe exists e-copy, but I can't find it quickly.

    Regards
    Alex

              Thanks all for the great info!

              The problem is no books by General Shumilov, just short articles.

              I will keep looking...
