  • Lunchtime talk on Red Army in WW2 London 8th October 2012

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I posted here and in the general WW2 forum.

The Battlefields Trust is holding a fund raising event on Monday 8th October

Dr Michael K Jones is speaking on Total War: With the Red Army from Stalingrad to Berlin A lecture and sandwich lunch. 12.30-2.00pm Monday 8 October 2012

The event is hosted by The Fusiliers Museum London in the Officer's Mess of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers HM Tower of London

If you would like to attend this lunchtime talk, please make a donation of £25 for each attendee (£20 for members of the Battlefields Trust) and email your name, contact number and any special requirements (dietary/mobility) to [email protected] On receipt, email confirmation will be sent together with directions to the venue. If you have any questions, please ring 0207 387 6620 . We look forward to welcoming you.

Dr Michael Jones developed his love of history at Bristol University, and his interests range from the Middle Ages to the Second World War. He is the author of Bosworth 1485 - Psychology of a Battle and a battlefield guide to Agincourt. Mike has taught history at Glasgow University and Winchester College and now works freelance as a writer and presenter.

He has been guiding tours for over 20 years and his particular interest is in battlefield psychology - inspirational leadership, the nature of courage and what inspires men to fight against the odds. His recent books on World War Two’s eastern front: Stalingrad, Leningrad and The Retreat - the German retreat from Moscow - use much new testimony from German and Russian veterans, and have received critics’ praise and wide readership. I recently read Total war and found it fascinating.

Here is a chance to to talk to a man who interviewed the soldiers who liberated Auschwitz among other actions.

To book the event follow the instructions on this Just Giving link.

Please indicate if this is a gift aid donation as every donation helps!

    Awesome. Wish I could attend.

I recently got his book on Stalingrad and it's next on my reading list.
Scientists have announced they've discovered a cure for apathy. However no one has shown the slightest bit of interest !!
