There was a surgeon from my Dad's unit that I saw interviewed on a documentary that said the worse thing he saw during the entire war was a house that took a direct artillery hit. One side of the house wall had fallen in, there at the table was the whole family sitting as they had been eating dinner when killed by the artillery round. He could never erase that image from his mind.
    My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
    No lie.
