      • Tic Tac UFO Incidents

Kevin Day is a retired United States Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer, a former Operations Specialist and TOPGUN Air Intercept Controller with more than 20 years' experience in Strike Group air defense including war-time operations. He joined George Knapp to discuss his experience with the USS Princeton's Combat Information Center that discovered the fleets of anomalous air contacts, now known as the Tic Tac UFOs, in the skies above the Southern California in November 2004. While working on the Princeton (a support ship for the USS Nimitz) on November 10, 2004, he noticed 8-10 tracks on the radar scope in the vicinity of the Catalina Islands. They were moving south at 28,000 feet and 100 knots, which is quite slow for something that high in the air.

The tracks traveled in a loose formation that resembled snowflakes falling in the sky and were observed on and off for several days. By November 14th, he became concerned because an air defense exercise was scheduled for the Nimitz, and the unknown objects represented a hazard for safe flight operations. From November 10th through the 16th, there were some 100 sightings of the unidentified formation by around 20 naval staff aboard the Princeton and other ships, Day cited. According to other radar operators, the craft at times fell straight out of the sky from 80,000 ft. to just 50 ft. above the water in a matter of seconds, as well as zoomed in from outer space to 80,000 ft. Day has written a slightly fictionalized account of his experiences in his book Sailor's Anthology, which can be viewed free online.

          • Dulce’s Underground Alien Base: Real Or Not?

            ...
So, where do things stand with the “Dulce Base?” Well, I’ll tell you. Today, there are a lot of rumors, not one of which has ever provided hard, undeniable proof that such an underground installation really exists. But, that the area has been a hotbed of very weird activity of the “mute” kind (and particularly in the 1970s), and that underground detonations occurred in the area, certainly makes it understandable why Dulce and its surroundings are interesting to ufologists. Unfortunately, for those who are absolutely sure that such a facility does exist below Dulce, “interesting” is about as good as it gets, right now. Unless you know better…

                • Operation UFO: Britain's race to beat Russia to alien weapons REVEALED in secret files

BRITISH spies planned to capture a flying saucer and use its alien technology to build superweapons, secret files reveal. Even after the Cold War, there were fears that the Soviet Union or China had impounded a UFO and were harvesting its secrets to develop superfast warplanes that could hover in mid-air and be invisible to radar.

Intelligence service chiefs urged the Government to be on the alert for sightings of strange foreign aircraft showing sinister signs of extraterrestrial tinkering.
The dossier, obtained by British XFiles expert Dr David Clarke, reveals the Government was running two UFO desks.
The public UFO desk was only set up to gather reports of sightings.
The real work was being done by experts from Defence Intelligence.

Are we alone? Unfortunately, neither of the answers feel satisfactory.

To be alone in this vast universe is a lonely prospect.

On the other hand, if we are not alone and there is someone or something more powerful out there, that too is terrifying.

                    • Stanton Friedman explores future of ufology; Famous UFO lecturer celebrates retirement and conducts first lecture for 23rd UFO Festival
                      ...
In the morning lecture, Friedman guided the audience through the famous 1947 Roswell Incident, his career as a nuclear physicist — and then his research on ufology.

As a believer in the existence of extraterrestrial life and its visitation to earth, Friedman said, “Man is not alone and our kids will grow up, grandkids, great-grandson will grow up knowing that — and that’s good.”

In March, it was announced Friedman intends to retire from the UFO Festival circuit. He estimates that he has done 700 lectures on this subject in all 50 states and even internationally. When asked about his retirement plans, he said he plans to philosophize on the big picture more and traveling for pleasure instead of work. Agreeing that he is still curious about ufology, he added in his retirement he intends to find out what the aliens have in mind for earth from testimonials of communicating with extraterrestrials.

To pass on his torch of research, Friedman said Kathleen Marden, niece of the allegedly abducted Betty and Barney Hill, is another author and lecturer that will carry on his work. Friedman said his first choice would be John Greenwald, who runs the Black Vault because he is “a sharp young man with plenty of data.”

                      • This being the thread for "weird", the following falls in that category. Admittedly too fantastic to sound real or true, but presented here to get a start on further investigation ...

Woman Found Alive and Wearing Same Clothes 1.5 Years After Drowning
                        ...
There are dramatic discoveries of missing people, like the announcement today that 12 young soccer players and their coach were found alive 10 days after disappearing in a cave system in Northern Thailand. And then there are mysterious and unexplainable discoveries, like the announcement out of Indonesia this week that a woman who was washed out to sea almost 18 months ago was found alive on the same beach wearing the same clothes she had on when she disappeared.

Multiple Indonesian media sources report that Nining Sunarsih was 52 and vacationing on the Citepus Beach in Sukabumi, West Java, on January 8, 2017, when a huge wave carried her out far beyond the point where onlookers felt safe swimming out to attempt to rescue the screaming woman. Professional search-and-rescue teams found nothing until a week later when a badly decomposed body washed ashore. Nining’s family denied it was her because it lacked a unique birthmark and the fingernails were different and a DNA test proved them correct.

Nonetheless, all rescue operations were called off and the woman was pronounced dead by the authorities.
Fast forward to late June 2018. An elder male relative (either an uncle or a grandfather – Google translations of the reports differ) had a recurring dream where the woman told him she was alive and directed him to a beach near where she disappeared. was alive. A group of relatives accompanied him to the beach where, after searching for many hours, they found her at 4 am on July 1 … 500 meters from where she disappeared, unconscious, covered in sand and wearing the same clothes she reportedly had on 18 months ago – a floral yellow dress and black pants.

The local search-and-rescue office confirmed that the information given about the person found was the same as that reported when they looked for the missing woman 18 months ago. She was then taken to a local hospital where the reports said she was conscious and recovering, but still on fluids and not talking about where she’s been for the last year-and-a-half.

Where HAS she been? A spokesperson for the Syamsudin Sukabumi hospital said there were no signs of drowning in the woman’s lungs and she appeared to be physically healthy and responsive to instructions to move her hands and feet. Suara.com reports that residents around the beach claim they saw someone who resembled Nining either on the roadside by the beach or looking for a bathroom. In both cases, the woman was reportedly dazed and not interested in conversation. Another witness remembered the day of the disappearance and recalled that no one looked at a nearby inn to see if she may have come ashore unnoticed and gone there to recover.

                          ...
Listen to this intriguing hour from a show we originally broadcast on March 28, 2016, when the late author and journalist Jim Marrs discussed the Aurora, Texas UFO crash of 1897, which he considered to be the "smoking gun" of the UFO issue. Its early date belies the explanation that it could have been a misidentified aircraft, as it was six years before the Wright Brothers first flew their planes.

In the first half, author and journalist Jim Marrs discussed the Aurora, Texas UFO crash of 1897, which he considers to be the "smoking gun" of the UFO issue. It's early date belies the explanation that it could have been a misidentified aircraft, as it was six years before the Wright Brothers first flew their planes, he noted. The date fits into the context of the 'Great Airship Mystery' of 1896-7, in which a large cigar-shaped object was seen in the skies of numerous American states. The Dallas Morning News reported that the airship hit a windmill on a judge's property and crashed, and that the pilot who died was "not of this world."

The alleged being was buried in the Aurora cemetery (a replica of the headstone is pictured here) but later efforts to exhume the body were rebuffed. He said he investigated the grave, and it appears that government agents may have pulled something, possibly metallic pieces, from the site. Marrs also cautioned that pharmaceutical companies may be moving in on the medical marijuana market. He weighed in on the current US presidential cycle and expressed concern that Trump may end up running as a third party candidate if he's knocked out in a brokered convention, and this will likely give the victory to Clinton.

                          • Here's an interesting twist and article, the "UFO" topic spans political ideologies(?);
The secret history of Marxist alien hunters
                            ....

Today guests on Coast to Coast AM are far more likely to sound like right-wing Infowarrior Alex Jones than socialist columnist Owen Jones. Nonetheless, some Marxists are still critiquing the capitalist logic of the New Space Age. Marxist futurist Aaron Bastani criticizes Muskian astro-liberalism by arguing that one could just as easily imagine automated technology, renewable energy, and plans for off-Earth resource extraction as creating the preconditions for a “fully automated luxury space communism.” The same critique would extend to Bigelow and Delonge: If their Roswellian reverse-engineering discovered the secrets of free energy, for instance, they ought to share it with mankind — even though it would threaten the pretenses of a class society based on scarcity economics.

This is a major question for Marxists. So long as wealth is hoarded to create artificial scarcity, the majority of the world is forced to either sell their labor power or starve. Through this coerced wage labor, workers become disconnected from the commodities they create, and thus the world in general. While Marx never talked about extraterrestrials, he called this condition alienation: “[T]he worker is related to the product of labor as to an alien object… the more the worker spends himself, the more powerful becomes the alien world of objects which he creates over and against himself...”

The Marxist Ufologists viewed UFO investigation as part of the scientific and intellectual tradition of humans attempting to overcome their alienation so that they might understand themselves and their place within in nature, with the aim of creating a truly free and equal society. In searching for aliens, they believed, we are forced to confront the alien logic of capital that controls the world. In this struggle, the Marxist Ufologists saw a potential ally in our interstellar neighbors. The prospect of such an encounter might be terrifying, but it’s hard to imagine our new alien overlords could be any more inhumane than the humans who currently dominate the planet.
