I saw the video this morning. Pretty impressive.

Outstanding stuff; always thought they should've led with the ground based landing first, then the sea based one if they had the software down. Someone said that the Falcon 9 costs 16 million US to build; if true, that's pretty awesome. All that vertical integration really works out well - 80% + internal- (unlike the mainstream aviation guys who absolutely insist on having things done by subcontractors all over the damn place).

Cool, wasn't it? Just like the early Si-Fi films of rockets landing.

Very impressive but real test is going to be the doing of it on a regular and consistent basis, paradoxically it becomes wonderful once it is routine, I do hope this is the first step on that path.

Could hook him up to a generator and get some green energy.

If Armstrong had had to get out of one of them it would have been a hell of a big step for a man.

Herge did it better. I'd love to see them put a red and white chequerboard on a Falcon one day.

Test V2s and some early US rockets had chequers on them so that film of the launch could be analysed to see if the vehicle had been rotating around the vertical axis.
