I have a German gas mask that I bought 40 years ago and figure it's time to get rid of it. It's in fair shape compared to the near perfect shape it was in when I bought it. I'm curious as to whether it was produced in WWII or not. It is identical to what I see on ebay though I think back to its condition when I bought it and wonder how it could have been so perfect 30 plus years after the war. Would these have been produced after the war?

The photo is pretty small, so I can't see any details. More than likely, it is original WW2 if you purchased it that long ago. I dought they continued to produce them after the war. However, I'm sure they were used years after until a better design was available.
    My worst jump story:
My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
    No lie.
