    Unless they bunged our lads cheap Dutch knock offs (which I wouldn't put past the bastards!) it's British... I wore it in the days I spent running about wiv grass in mi' 'at and toting an SLR!

    Tried it on for old times sake... sadly, it's shrunk!!!

    The long toll of the brave
    Is not lost in darkness
    Over the fruitful earth
    And athwart the seas
    Hath passed the light of noble deeds
    Unquenchable forever.

      Well, perhaps it was the transition model from Denison style to the new (then) DPM style smock, (Were you serving in the mid-late 70's?) which had press-studs, and which would make it a pretty rare piece of kit.

      As I said above, I knew some blokes who used the Dutch type. which had press studded beaver-tail too,
      ‘Tis said his form is tiny, yet
      All human ills he can subdue,
      Or with a bauble or medal
      Can win mans heart for you;
      And many a blessing know to stew
      To make a megloamaniac bright;
      Give honour to the dainty Corse,
      The Pixie is a little shite.

        Yep, mid seventies to mid eighties. I'll take some piccies when I get back to civilisation, saw a biman wearing one very similar the other day, that prompted me to have a dig and see if I'd still got mine!
        Stuck in deepest Cleethorpes at the moment for the Armed Forces Weekend event.
