  • Military Aviation Preservation Society (MAPS) Museum

    Hi all,

I recently started volunteering to help the MAPS Museum in the Akron/Canton area. It truly is one of the area's best kept secrets... and, over the next few months/years, we're going to try to make it less of a secret and more of a recognized organization.

To steal from the web site:

The Military Aviation Preservation Society is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about the history of military aviation. It accomplishes its mission by acquiring, restoring, preserving, studying and exhibiting military aircraft and related artifacts at the MAPS Air Museum.

MAPS raises awareness of military aircraft through special programming at the museum, visitation to schools and groups in the area, as well as participation in aviation events.
You can learn more about the museum at and more about the aircraft they current have at

However, I'm posting to make folks aware of the MAPS presence on various social networking sites. The organization is making a push to raise awareness of their mission, and I'm hoping some of you might find the group interesting.

If you're on Facebook, please consider friending them at

If you're on Twitter, please consider following them (

You can also check out their blog at

And, of course, if you're in the area, you can always stop by the museum for a visit
