I'm sure that they meant "not too distant future" in geologic terms, which could mean in the next several thousand years.

No, the time frame was measured in decades. IIRC, but I may not, the number 25 years was mentioned. In any event, it was not cited in a geologic measurement of time.

I'm quite impressed with the amount of effort that must have gone into this post. The subject matter is bollocks, but the syntax..............

              Is that you Duke?

A man-made bridge would take at least a decade to build.

As for plates shifting and rising; if they did, I doubt very much the terrain would be very navigable. If areas were to be mudflats at low tide, crossing with armored vehicles would be almost impossible and infantry would be decimated trying to cross the open ground.
If you can't set a good example, be a glaring warning.

I stand corrected. In that case, your guide didn't have the slightest idea what he was talking about.

There could be possibily of use TBM machine like in build of tunnel under Channel Calaise-Dover and pick mass of warfare through it to British land.

Tanks and heavy equipment pushed through tunnel and para operation pushed by Luftwaffe in area where machine reached surface and British Home Guard have hard nut to crack.

There actually was a land bridge during the last Pleistocene glacial period (~18,000 years ago)...

And the English Channel is actually a "graben"...A down-thrown fault block bounded by normal faults in England and France...

                    How the Channel was formed

That said, there is no anthropogenic mechanism for "uplifting" the down-thrown fault block under the English Channel.

Now, if Germany could figure out a way to lower sea level to where it was 18,000 years ago, they'd have a land bridge. The only way to do that would be to trigger a rapid onset of continental glaciation (ala The Day After Tomorrow). The problem with that would be that most of Germany would get buried under a mile-thick sheet of ice as sea level dropped to form the ice bridge...

Ice age map of northern central Europe. Red: maximum limit of Weichselian ice age; yellow: Saale ice age at maximum (Drenthe stage); blue: Elster ice age maximum glaciation...LINK

                        ROTFLMAO! Outstanding!

His idea was using the U-boat fleet for the base of a pontoon bridge!

What were the Germans playing at?,

This puts my peddleo idea to shame, each can carry two men plus kit and only cost five pound for a full hour.
                                Sealion would have failed..............runs,
