  • Princess Diana does not die in car "accident"

In fact she never gets divorced from Charles (arguably for the childrens sake). They go on to become King and Queen when MUM dies from a stroke. Two years later its Charles and his mistress who die misteriously in the Chunnel, leaving Diane ruling alone till her one of her sons is ready for her to step down. Given her work for peace around the world she becomes the first president of the European Union and later parlays that into leadership of the UN, which she restructures eliminating decades of corruption there.

Other than a yawned "Who cares" the burning question would be what did she wear when she went shopping with Paris Hilton?

I thought that British Succession Laws does not allow a surviving spouse to rule.

It doesn't, With the Queen gone, Prince William'd succeed his father, whatever his age. The chances of Diana being made regent'd be on the far side of remote.

There's also the fact that, until the accident, she was an embarrassment to the royals and a pain in the neck to everyone else.
        Indyref2 - still, "Yes."

(and at the risk of sounding REALLY callous), if she hadnt have been killed in that tunnel that night then one of my favourite films wouldnt have been made.

Her death was a tragedy but there was something almost pre ordained about it, almost Faustian ('aint that high falutin' talk for so early in the morning?!)

People forget, the press were starting to turn on her over this Dodi Fayed issue. There's no "if only" on this issue.

Yes, God bless the bottom feeding British tabloid press. Without them generations of budgies in their cages would have nothing to cr*p on (the paper they use to print their guff being too abrasive to be used elsewhere as would normally befit it).

Indeed. My point is that Diana not dying would not have led society to the promised land of utopia that is often suggested by Dianaphiles.

Anybody remember that Parkinson show that had the comedian Peter Kay on it? When he talking about being at Las Vegas and seeing an air condition salesman from Düsseldorf doing Candle in the Wind at karaoke?

Maybe this instead..... Di does not die in the Paris tunnel. She marries Dodi Fayed, a closet Islamist. Something horrible happens to Charles - falls into a coma while having routine surgery to have his ears pinned back. The Queen and Prince Phillip, in their grief, decide to mourn in a local working class pub, and start dissing Man U football team - "they don't have class, like Wimbledon..." is the last thing Phillip is heard saying before taken out by a squadron of beer mugs. Dodi and Di become the Queen and Queener of England, immediately declaring it an Islamic constitutional monarchy. England implodes....

Princess Diana's bloodline is legitamate royal family

In exerts from a storyline by David Southwell and Sean Twist:

Just before she died, Diana told a major British newspaper to prepare for an amazing announcement.

Both the Queen and Diana had stated that forces were working toward her death.

That the Windsors had her killed to maintain their illegitamate hold on the throne

This is the foundation for the alternate timeline posted earlier
