  • unconditional surrender

gentlemen, i`ve heard much deliberation on these message boards over whether the u.s.s.r. could have enforced the terms of unconditional surrender on the german reich. we should reflect that even with american & british intervention the reich was able to continue the war until may of `45. now gentlemen let us reconsider the chain of events if the fuhrer does not commit what could arguably be the greatest blunder (with consideration to the stakes) in military history , and declare war on the united states. what you would then have is an (Uneasy) alliance between great britian & russia , it has been well documented the great distrust and contempt that stalin had of the british (has anyone heard of "the great game") . it can be said , with a fair degree of certainty that stalin had no intention of allowing the british to fight to the "last russian". it should also be noted that churchill was not in favor of a cross channel invasion & preferred the hitting of the "soft underbelly" of the croc. now , even with american intervention kesselring managed to finish the war on italian soil. how far would the "tommies" have advanced on their own. also take into consideration if the 1st , 2nd & 12 pnzr. divisions were able to have been employed during operation bagradion?? can antone say STALEMATE!!!!

Hmmm - an interesting thought - but one for the Alternate History forum surely?

Imagine a ball of iron, the size of the sun. And once a year a tiny sparrow brushes its surface with the tip of its wing. And when that ball of iron, the size of the sun, is worn away to nothing, your punishment will barely have begun.
