  • Germany wins WWl

what if the French cracked at any time during WWl? Either early on in a panic as Paris was threatend or late in the war during the mutinies?

Germany victorious in the Great War almost certainly means no WW2, but almost certainly means more conflict with the British Empire over dominance at sea and colonies.

Would it all have ended up the same with the development of democarcy in Europe anyway?
    What would Occam say?

it has been answered before in this forum...

but it all depends when France looses... 1914 or later?....

also, in ww1, the war monger was by far not Germany, so a win for Germany might mean less conflicts.

Endless war at sea is my guess.

The overseas British empire holding together, probably siding with the Americans. The Germans controlling Europe and the middle East.

That goes on for a couple decades until somebody develops a nuke.

IF France fell to Germany then who gets the French Colonies? Germany along with thier own colonies? Status quo???? Advantage Germany? War at sea msot likly had taken a different shape with the Med Coast being under German control.

Well considering the Italian Navy bottled up the Austrian Navy.

We have not defined when France fell, yes it would make a different

Well Pat, considering that the Autsro-Hungarian Fleet was all but in range of shore batteries of the Italians, really not a big feat of military arms. Even Italian

Were did Spain stand at the time. Who did they smile on? How safe would Gibraltar have been IF Spain's Crown sided with the Germans. We can't say that they had a love affair with England.

Spain was not going to upset the RN, as they still had overseas colonies.

                      Found this

What's more, Spain's king vigorously protested the German Navy's use of submarines. By war's end, Spain had lost 140,000 tons of shipping to the U-boats. Even though committed to neutrality, Spain played a valuable role in easing the suffering caused by World War One.

140,000 tons from a netural country? How large of a merchant fleet did Spain have at the time. Seems like that fig. is high.

Pat, if you knew that, how much tonnage the Spanish Merchant had, perhaps you need to get out more. Come back to Lahr! Beer is on me. You being a Canuk that should be two at best two and a half beers.
