    WW2 non-start

Better yet...What if Hitler died of natural causes in summer 1939. He may well been remembered as one of the greatest German leaders of all time.

Would the Nazi still attack Poland?

Who would lead the Germans in a wartime scenario? Hess, Goering,...? Would have there been a wartime scenario?

        Rommel

Everything I have ever read and or heard was Rommel was not a fanatic like Hitler, so Rommel would not lead the skinheads. Rommel was great tank commander not a Nazi sympathizer.

Admiral Donitz. But he was just a mid-level admiral before the war without the stature to take over the German government. I don’t think he especially wanted the job historically but took it out of loyalty to the German people. In 1939 he was to far down the totem pole to be considered as the head of government.
More likely it would have been Goering. He was a respected WWI ace and had a fairly high position in the government. No one would have trusted the SS so Himmler would have been out of the question.

You're probably right about Hitler's rep -- without the war he would have been famous.

I suspect after his election there would have been no war, but there would have been an election. Goering would have won, since he had better ties to ensure it was rigged in his favor -- I cannot imagine a fair election with the Nazis in charge.
