Every bad history book is only a study in hindsight.

Strange that few politicians ever learn from it.
    They have more pressing concerns.

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

Seems so, at least when they're not too busy stealing from the taxpayer.

Ignorance is not the lack of knowledge. It is the refusal to learn.

Amongst other things. Politicians, especially in the current era, think only about the next election. Appearing to act decisively is far more important than the long-term consequences of those actions.

.... perhaps Hitler's biggest mistake was spurning an alliance with the alien space bats!?

But he didn't! There's a whole series on the History Channel that discusses how Hitler planned on using alien technology in the next generation of Nazi weaponry.

Gotta love the History Channel. Where would we be without it?

But that wasn't the 'Space Bats', it was the energy from the 'Black Sun' dimension that the Nazis learned to tap in to! Have you not played 'Wolfenstein' or heard of the OSA and their top agent B J Blaskowitz?

THC really is misnamed now. Years ago it was pretty good, but now it's about Pickers, pawn shops and trailer trash, and nazi space aliens.

Effectively it is to History what MTV is to Music these days! Not that I would know, having abandoned watching television years ago, but that's the impression I get.

Your not missing a thing. Nowadays the Hit-or-miss-tery Channel has several genres: junk TV, alien TV, apocalypse TV, hillbilly TV and for two weeks in November, how Canada won the war. The only reliable information on television is from the Food Channel.
