  • Well, I doubt either of them has anything to worry about, so why not just leave them on auto-pilot?

and, damn, I don't think you will be hearing much from Spain for a while either.... land combat looks very complicated!

    • Duke Maynard has returned but I asked him if he has the time to commit. No issues if he does not and wants to drop out. In any case Spain is up near the end of the phase so I will press on until I hear his decision.

      • Naval Phase for Nov 1805

OK,... we are down to the nitty-griity before I leave for Japan.

I could push through the naval moves if players like but I would need all orders (including Spain's) before 0800h Dec 24 (GMT)

Merry Christmas to you all during the Christmas truce. I'll be back Jan 4-5. I'll have my iPad but don't know how often I'll be logging on while climbing Mount Fuji

        • Good morning,

I executed the naval orders early this morning and will post results while waiting at the airport. Would have done it all last night by the C-in-C gave orders thus:

"You can conquer Europe some other time but we need to finish packing and tidying the house."

I betcha Marlborough or Frederick the Great never had to turn on the dishwasher, do a load of laundry or wash the car before they went on campaign.

Wait untill she asks you to "show her the game"

I once occupied my gf's laptop for an entire thursday night because of some dire forum game situation that was going to be resolved on New-Zealand time,

I had one hell of a time trying to convince her three unintelligible Pm's constituted a fascinating gaming experience and not some lame excuse for watching porn.

The look on her face is not something I'd like to see repeated either.

There's a reason I run these games from the office

why do you think they went on campaign. Plus they might actually win a battle

Welcome back, how was the Fudzi?

And speaking about game - so who is who now? Craven took over Britain and Exorcist is Spanish king or Duke Maynard will continue as Spanish player?

                    • Ok Gents. I will be executing the French move this evening and then we are off into December snow fall and slow movement. Get your quills sharpened and diplomatic notes ready.

Now is the time for craven (Britain) to introduce himself to the other powers through talks. I will put together the ful update for Britain's forces this evening as well.

                      Cheers!!

Huh, and here I thought things might be quiet for a little longer.

                          • Proclamation by Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor.

As of today Dec 1st 1805 The Empire is in a state of war with the Kingdom of Spain.

Although we regret this state of affairs, the continued occupation of the Seat of St Peter cannot be tolerated – we will restore the holy city of Rome to its rightful position.

We make no claims on other Spanish dominions outside of Italy, nor on both Sicilies, indeed they are considered the Spanish’ kings ancestral lands.

                            Aquila Elegit Iovis Omnia Vincit.

                            • His most Catholic majesty responds;

I cannot help but observe that is strange timing, I was about to re-offer a couple of those provinces in Italy that are so coveted for Sale... but so be it.
I should have realized that since my last communication had been ignored, that this was inevitable.

Austria has decided that it is cheaper to invade, we will prove them wrong. Timid, vacillating Austria has designated Spain as the easy target, we must prove them wrong or die fighting in order to maintain the honor of the nation!

We declare Holy War, let every gun, every cannon, every sword and dagger be turned against the Austrians as connive to divide Italy between themselves and the Slavs... I'm sure the Italians will enjoy life under the cross of the Eastern Orthodoxy.

Yes, we had previously sought an understanding with the Austrians, but they simply assume some sort of pre-emptive right to control the Papacy via an Empire that is neither Holy, not Roman, nor an Empire in any real sense.
Very well, we can make friends in powerful places too.
