If it was given to the Germans....hmmm.....

Hitler would probably waste it on something foolish, but if he was smart, then he'd turn it loose commerce raiding. Can you imagine the terror of a convoy destroyed by rockets from an enemy they couldn't even see? Of aircraft blown out of the sky miles away from this cruiser-sized ship? A cruiser-sized ship that can run with Destroyers! That can hammer a DD with ungodly precision gunfire at maximum range at night in a rainstorm! That can dodge subs with uncanny ability, and do equally well with aircraft! The Allies would have their whole navies scrambled to try to bring this thing to battle.....

Here is a horrible thought, it is 2012 and a crew of Germans are transported back to the begining of 1940 and so they have a chance to change the war to suit the Nazis and they do, and so during 1940 and 1941 the Germans back engineer the ship and the crew give technical details to boffins on all aspect of each of the ships systems and low and behold by mid 1942 the Germans have half a dozen of the ships with a dumbed down weapons system but two generations more advanced than anything afloat, effectively the Germans gain superiority over the allied navies as more and more of these ships go into service and are naturally improved upon.

Hitler by 1944 is no longer "A coward of the seas" but is "The Killer Whale of the seas".

Imagine all those lovely Transports and Aircraft Carriers large ships that are attacked and the USA and Britian can't keep up with replacing them, effectively the Germans are sinking them faster than the Allies can build them.

Just how many boats and crews are you sending back? Also remember how long it takes to build printed circuits from nothing. Hint: your first mobile phone was more complicated than anything Nazi Germany could make, let alone the electronics of an Aegis destroyer.

It doesn't matter we'll send the Nimitz back.....we'll call the operation:

          The Final Countdown..

Well, even the sonar crews and radar crews probably know more about theory and practice than the Germans knew in WWII. If sent early enough that expertise could result in U-boats having sonar systems a generation ahead of even the best allied systems. Not Ubersystems, but still superior.

Not only that but can inform the OKM about the fact that the British have cracked Enigma and know exactly where the Ultra divice is at Bletchly Park and attack it and destroy it, one cruise missile with the co-ordinates can do a large amount of damage to the British capabilities to decpher German codes especially when the key facility that is charged with breaking those codes is destroyed and the boffins are killed, set the British back by a massive margin.
