  • Worst WW2 Allied Forces General

Who in your opinion was the worst Allied general?

My choice - British Gen. AS Percival.
Should have done much better defending Malaya and Singapore.

    So many to choose from...

Alexander for not giving Clark a clear unarguable order not to go to Rome...

    Monty for practically everything...

Freyberg for misinterpreting ULTRA and losing Crete...

Anybody with a brain in the US Pacific Fleet prior to Pearl...

No I have to agree with you Percival should have done better, he had seasoned troops, plenty of time and enough SigInt to tell him where to expect any attack.

If you know anything about my handle, and the battle, you would nominate 2 corps Lt. General Lloyd Fredendall.

Ike relieved him during Kasserine, and relaced him with ernie harmon. Fredendall was yellow, pure and simple. he was then sent home to train troops.
