  • Penetration Tables

    Hi

I'm looking for some penetration tables for small caliber anti tank guns (57mm~37mm) with odd angles of impact (say 20 instead of 30 or 90).

I've been trying to figure out how much angling armour degrades a certain gun's penetration, and having some comparisons to make a regression equation with would be really nice.

I would go ask these guys

    http://seowhq.net/seowforum/

They have been obsessed for years with developing accurate penetration tables of all types in the process of building computer models.

Some US penetration charts that might be of use for you and others. Got them via Robert Livingston many years ago:

        37mm AP M80
        37mm AP M51
        37mm APC M59
        40mm AP M81
        57mm AP M70
        57mm APC M86

The next time you feel like complaining about French stereotypes, you know what you can do instead, right?

My initial thought was "Why is it akward?"

Guess that makes me a real nerd

The problem with penetration tables is that peculiarities with rounds can make them far less effective than what should be theoretically possible.

As for a site detailing smaller calibre weapons try this: http://www.quarryhs.co.uk/miltech.htm

Hi, are you by any chance the guy who posted the penetration data for the Japanese Type 1 47mm gun, specifically for the late war Tokko Otsu shell? If you are, what was the source for that data?

                      Thanks.

                        Answering this by logical deduction...

This question was shinhoto's first post, so no.

I came across it on another page (this one, actually http://forum.warthunder.com/index.ph...n-performance/) while searching for historical penetration data. It was by a guy with the same username talking about the same topic, so I figured it might have been him.
