  • Another Legless Wonder?

Most students of WWII are aware of the legend of Douglas Bader, the double-amputee ace of the Royal Air Force, but how many know about an equally exceptional man who flew for the Soviet Air Force? Major Alexei Maresyev lost both feet in a crash and later returned to action and scored 7 more aerial victories. Any other examples of people who overcame major disabilities to fight in the war?
