    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    The long toll of the brave
    Is not lost in darkness
    Over the fruitful earth
    And athwart the seas
    Hath passed the light of noble deeds
    Unquenchable forever.

        It had to happen, if only by the law of averages, the first sensible 'fing HPJ's ever said!

          The BoB memorial flight is taking the same route today as that first flight in 1936 - so eyes skyward for the guys living in and around Southampton.

          I can still recall the thrill I felt as a kid sitting down in the cockpit of a late marque Spit at RAF Catterick circa 1952-53.

                  I had no idea that you were that old. Happy birthday Von!
                  My worst jump story:
                  My 13th jump was on the 13th day of the month, aircraft number 013.
                  As recorded on my DA Form 1307 Individual Jump Log.
                  No lie.

                              I was ten when it came out at the Odeon Cinema Clacton-on-Sea. I remember that very part well. When the theme music kicked in I got goosebumps on my goosebumps and the hair on the back of my head got stiffer than a wire brush.

                              Or with a bauble or medal
                              Can win mans heart for you;
                              And many a blessing know to stew
                              To make a megloamaniac bright;
