      More correctly BT308 was the Manchester III prototype - see The Lancaster Bomber pocket manual 1941-1945 Introduction Martin Robson Kings College Joint Services Command abd Staff College.

        After surviving piloting Stirlings and getting shot up, my uncle Brian went on to fly Lancs on quite a number of missions, he made it through the war and died in Peterborough in the early 1970s of the big C. RIP
