        1. Mushing ( used in the Vosges,it was the only way to supply equipments, armaments to the French front during winter)

                              - I do not have a good photo for this but I am certain working elephants were used used in the European theatre for transporting heavy goods. The below MAY be an example of an elephant pulling a piece of heavy machinery during the war....I don't know why else they would use an elephant for the task apart from the wartime shortage/demand for horses.
