                          Admiral Fletcher was the commander of the U.S. Navy's squadron during the 1914 landings at Vera Cruz, Mexico. There, he won the Medal of Honor for his "distinguished conduct in battle." Admiral Fletcher was also the uncle of the more famous Admiral Frank Jack Friday, victor of the Battle of Midway.
