        The destruction of not only the city but its citizens as well...By the time the Russians entered in 1916, barely a hundred Armenians were left alive, out of a prewar population of 20,000 (wiki).

                • I know this is the Baker's Dozen but looking at the previous dozen of destroyed cities I wonder how in late 1918, early 1919 the population looked at their city and went about rebuilding. I could not even begin to comprehend how to go about it, but (for example) if you go to Ypres today it is almost as if it had never suffered. Amazing.
