Now that seems to be the sort of chaplain I would like to have in my unit

Is it my selective reading or are this sort of fighting preachers more represented among Roman Catholics than among other denominations?

I'm heartened to see so many New Yorkers on this list. Here's another:

                      9. Daniel Joseph "Dan" Daley, Sgt Maj, USMC

According to none other than Maj Gen Smedley Darlintgon Butler, Daley was "the fightin'est Marine I ever knew!" Sgt Maj Daly rests a mere twenty minutes walk from where I grew up.
