  • Sturdee replaces Beatty as commander of the British battlecruiser squadron at Jutland

Saw this on Drach before wifi gave up. In this senario Vice Admiral Sturdee commands the battlecruiser squadron at Jutland including the 5th BS. Beatty instead commands one of the battleship squadrons. Sturdee had some experience of battle cruisers at Falkland Islands. While a bit of a maverick Sturdee was not quite as mad as Beatty.

To a degree but perhaps Sturdee would have discouraged such poor ammunition handling practices.

If he had coordinated with the 5th BS could have sunk or crippled a German BC or two on the run south.
