  • Personal Accounts about Airwar in Kew Archives

Those members interested in WW1 Aerial Warfare will probably find this 14 page article of interest.

I found two accounts especially interesting. One is James McCudden's paper on fighting the SE5 against EA scouts and two-seaters.

The other is a German account obtained after the war of one Zeppelin officer describing another Zeppelin being shot down in flames.

    Good find that one matey.

The long toll of the brave
    Is not lost in darkness
    Over the fruitful earth
    And athwart the seas
Hath passed the light of noble deeds
    Unquenchable forever.
