The teeth revealed that he came from south-west England.

Are south-west English teeth particularly distinctive?

Always transfer blame somewhere else, no matter how long ago the event took place.

The Mary Rose was commanded by a Captain, with officers serving under him, and a sailing master. The responsibility for giving the appropriate orders to the Bosun's Mate was theirs - something they obviously failed to do.

The captain of a ship, by both naval law and tradition, is always responsible for the loss of his vessel.

That's the trouble with science these days - way too much jumping to irrational conclusions.

Do those laws and traditions date from before or after 1550? ;-)

What sank Mary Rose was the fact that the gun ports on the low side , in the turn let water in causing her to flood & sink

"Mary Rose" had an excess of everything, men, guns, munitions, officers who did not know their business. The ship was the pride of Henry,s fleet but she had been over gunned and was on the day carrying far to many men for the purpose of which she was needed, plus she was top heavy. Whoever ordered the lower gun ports opened, plus the lubberly no sailor who ordered a turn into the wind, thus pushing the lower open gun ports under water was the man responsible for Mary Rose going for a deep six and not our Bosun. But, as usual blame the poor sod at the bottom of the heap.
