    Since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 they have had to look to their own ship builders for naval vessels. And like the vintage cars that Cuba is famous for, the resulting contraptions are quirky to say the least.

    Castro's hardly the first petty dictator to weaponize a trawler either...



    You'd think he was a drug lord trying to make a fleet to take on the US Coast Guard...

        self propelled barge into a minelayer ? not a bad use for this type of craft
        afterall mines have caused more damage than ASM/aerial bombs to USN post-ww2
