Hello All,
My name is Ashley and I am the one that moved the forum to its new hosting location. This was done for security reasons and try to keep the forum from going down every other day. I understand that the new forum looks very different from the old one but I promise almost everything you had before you still have it might just be in a different place.

Items that are gone due to a limitation of the new hosting/ forum update:
- Awards
- Flags

As I was going thought your posts I was able to fix a lot fo the issues you were listing. Below is kind of a running list of issues an what is fixed and what I am still working on.

Items that I have fixed from your comments:
- Smilie are now working.
- Color/Theme changes
- Signature are now showing up. (Here is how to edit them
- Ranking is now showing up.
- Private messaging is now working.

Some issues I am still working on are:
- Missing items from the Calendar
- Like button the posts is giving an error.

One other note I have seen a lot is theme/color related items. I know this is important to all of you but at the moment the most important thing was getting you back a functioning forum with as many features I can get you back from before.

Theme/color is something we can change but it the moment I do not have the time and resources to fix all of the issue and design the site. I did do some theme updates yesterday but it is very time consuming. Please just be patient with the forum as we get it back to as close as I can to what you had before.

If anyone has any issues that they are running in to please let me know in the post below. Please give me as much detail as possible .

  • 60 years of being the best

Saturday (August 23) is a milestone in the world of military aviation marking the 60th anniversary of the first flight of the Hercules C-130 at Burbank, California in 1954 and South Africa, through the SA Air Force’s 28 Squadron, is part of the worldwide Herc family.

Last year the AFB Waterkloof-based squadron celebrated the 50 anniversary of the Herc, better known in South Africa as Flossie. 28 Squadron operates C-130BZs and looks set to do so for another six years at least before new airlift capacity becomes reality for the airborne arm of the SA National Defence Force (SANDF).

To mark the 50th anniversary of service with the second oldest air force in the world, the BZs carrying the tail numbers 402 and 406 were adorned with special artwork “50 Years of Service” in painted in black on the front section of the fuselage.

The Herc is operated by 70 countries and South Africa ranks number five on the list of operators.

The first production C-130 gave 40 years of service. Known as “The First Lady” the aircraft first flew in 1955 and spent many years as a test aircraft before being converted into a gunship. It was retired to the USAF Armament Museum at Eglin AFB in Florida in 1955

As a note of trivia, the Herc with the most airframe hours(130314) resides here in Canada (at least it was when she was retired)

42,761 hours spent in the air. (4.88 years aloft)

She spends her time now at the RCAF museum in Trenton, Ontario, though a part of her is still performing valuable service.
The outer wings were removed and installed on Herc 130336 before she was retired.

Outer wings of Herc 130333 are now on Herc 130314 at the museum.
Scientists have announced they've discovered a cure for apathy. However no one has shown the slightest bit of interest !!

Only in the use of the title of Air Force. Air Corp or Air Service came first and several years before Air Force was used.
