      Maybe it will be ready for deployment by the time the new Zumwalt destroyer is launched. That ship has lots of electricity to power a laser, among other things.

        there are still substantial hurdles to overcome with this design, for instance its ability to find and hit a target during bad or inclement weather, but certainly its one for the future and worth keeping a eye on...

          Another question. At sea isn't there allot of spray? Which would mean airborne water droplets. That would scatter the beam's light reducing its ability against a Sea skimming missile.
