  • Small, light military vehicles

perusing pintrest and notice a 6 wheel truck that appeared to have two/twin bofors on the back in a turret and then several suggestion pictures ranging from ISIS style technicals, to an MRAP style cab with an avenger gatling cannon, and even a norinco lynx...at what point does a vehicle become ridiculously light, and begin losing effectiveness for a modern military? (assuming world power level military, not banana republic level military)
    also whats your favorite?

There needs to be enough weight and or a pneumatic system to provide an balanced platform. A twin Bofors in a turret may be too heavy for the Truck chassis. I would prefer something along the Hummer family.

I think Vietnam proved that a helicopter which is both unarmored and lightly armed can be highly effective. Like much of life being at the right place at the right time is critical to military success. There always seems to be a need for calvary.

I feel we should bring back gun trucks like the War Pig LMTV. Something big enough to carry heavy weapons but maneuverable enough off road. Mount a .50 cal and a Mk19 and maybe a TOW launcher.
