The pistol grip and forestock look HK-ish. I want to say G3 but the butt too long, the G3 doesn't have the grooved pistol grip, and there is no flash supressor.

Is it maybe an HK G3SG-1?

      Edit:
Does the picture crop the barrel? If it has a flash supressor it could be the G3SG-1. If not it could be the MSG3.

It's definitely a G3 varient. Without the flash hider it's probably a civilian version.

To be absolutely precise, it's from Counter-Strike, the "D3/AU-1".

A video game??? No wonder it's missing the adjustable shoulder stock and integral bipod.

Look at the magazine. It is a 7.62mm.

I'm going for an video game rip off of the HK G3SG/1. Here's a couple links.

How do I tell the diference between 7.62 mags and 5.56 mags from a photograph taken without a ruled scale?

It's a G3 all rigth, but the data I have on it, says it's the SG1.

7.62mm magazines are block-ier and straight. When there is inadequate scale you can see that they don't curve like a 5.56mm magazine does.

                        I think 'D3/AU1' is a video game name for the G3/SG1. I've never heard of a 'D3/AU1.'

                              Correct, gentlemen

It was the rifle used in Afhanistan recently in a shoot in excess of 2000 metres by a Canadian sniper
