But no Tannenberg/Grunwald/Zalgiris battle anymore although it was huge, lots of nations and different warriors (from west knights till mongol archers) participated and this battle had huge impact on Eastern and Central Europe history as Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth became after this battle major power in the region.

Kalka river but no Kulikovo field? It's even been listed in a recent ACG issue as one of the battles which had an impact on world history. Weird.

In 1223 the mongols crushed the armies of a few Russian princes who couldn't get their act together. Even if they could, the Mongols would've steamrolled them anyway.

And the Battle of Chudskoye lake was in 1242, not 1241.

        *Sigh*

        Okay, all you new people:

        1) I already listed Tannenberg/Grunwald in the first poll

        2) This is only part II. Since there are so many battles, there are going to be another 2 or 3 parts before the winners are listed in the final poll.

        3) Just to nip this one in the bud--I am NOT going to list or put up with anyone saying "why isn't blablablah on the list?" Most likeley, the one you're complaining about was already on a previous poll, or will be listed in a future poll anyway. SO DON'T DO IT!!

        K, bye!

Manzikert - definite impact on world history today. No crusade(s) would lead to a vastly different Middle East today.

Agreed. Plus any chance to vote against Lechfeld cannot be missed.

OK, this goes without saying, but Manzikert wins by a landslide, and will show up in the final round.

Now on to Round 3, gents!!
