I've only seen that movie once about 30 years ago maybe? Still remeber parts to it to this day and thought it was pretty cool at that time. Specially the ending when King Leonidas is dead and the rest of the Spartans refuse to surrender and they are all killed by arrows.

It's a great movie -- a classic. Lots of good inspiration in there about living your life, if you're into lessons. If not, enjoy a movie full of ungory bloodshed (the best kind) and valor!

It was great when I first saw it, but now a bit dated.

We used to play it out in the school yard, lets play ''300 Spartans''.

One side consisted of three v's the rest of the class.

If you were one of the three then you got battered!

Minor point: the 300 Spartans were not killed. They became immortal as all true heroes do. They are alive in the movies and books where they live, and in the lessons we learn from their sacrifice

I had read this thread and then yesterday I was in Wal-Mart and saw 300 Spartans for nine bucks on DVD. So I bought it and the movie is great! The beginning is a little slow, but its necessary in the build up. The actual battle scenes are great and the film really seems like it has a purpose and a message. A message about honor and defending what is right, no matter what the cost. Not many movies like that today.

Great book -- the best I have read in years. I'm also waiting for the movie to come out one of these days (it's in the works, but stalled, last I heard).
