  • WTTA MOVIES -- Spartacus

Anyone seen the old 50s or 60s movie Sparticus with Kirk Douglas? Ive been trying to find it on dvd but I dont even see it on vhs? Last time I saw it, was on AMC and they have bloody commercials, which always come at the best parts of the movie.

I have that movie in VHS I believe. Seen it, not overly impressed with it. Don't really know how accurate it is.

Netflix is a subscription DVD rental service. They have Spartacus on disk.

There's a great movie line: "I am Spartacus."
The movie is pretty good. I'd love to see it on DVD. When I toured Universal Studios many years ago, the tour guide told us that they used college students for the extras and ran out of equipment, so some of the Romans are wearing tennis shoes.

BTW, there are 2 versions: the old one that was released back in the 60s and the new "Directors Cut" that is quite a bit longer. I have only seen the former.

Is this the movie where all the Romans have British accents and the slaves are all Americans?
