  • Celtic chariot from circa 600 BC discovered in Wales

The first known chariot burial in Wales has been discovered in Pembrokeshire and is being excavated. A lot of what we know about life in pre Roman, pre history Britain is due in no small part to the propensity of the top people of the day to be buried in their boat, chariot etc along with their weapons and other valuables. These guys obviously did not believe the old adage 'You can't take it with you'. I sometime wonder though what we do learn. Imagine if tomorrow a super mega eruption buried major parts of the globe in ash and in two and a half thousand years time the White House or Buck House were excavated. What light would this shed on how ordinary Americans or Britons live today?
