  • News: New Sub-forum(s) within WTTA

    Hello!

As you have seen this morning, we have begun rearranging the WTTA forum to make it easier to find things.

Today we broke out the "Age of Muskets" into its own forum. While it has not had the most posts, it has had the most interest, so I chose it to go first. Others will follow in like manner, based on the interest as indicated in surveys conducted over the past couple of weeks.

Please post new items into the "subforums" when they are established. I will ensure that there is a marker where the thread used to be to remind you of its new location.

Thanks for your cooperation and interest.

Let's keep learning and sharing together.

Typical Officer: Has to have everything organized... Heh good job. I even put the first threads in a few of them.

Well that comes first, but value your contribution here, so please chip in (not just you, but everyone) as time permits.

            Might I suggest...

            Age of Sail

            Age of Steel

            Age of Steam

            Ageless?

I might be able to along with "Naval Power Throughout History" or something like that, until we can get more interest up. Let's see how much interest there is.

                Working some here

I am thinking of doing a little thinking on relabelling some of the sub-forums here at WTTA -and if anyone has any input regarding this -

Please drop me a PM with your suggestions. It won't be anything too drastic.

OK I have this sorted out - for the most part -and the folders here will be changed around a bit ... relabelled and Med and Pike are to be merged. I think Mantis is wanting me to wax eloquent on a mission statement for each area- and the organization will be pretty much as it is now.

This general area can be used for all cross over period discussions.

-> Further thread ideas will involve WTTA movies, WTTA hobbies (maybe -well maybe means it is freekin' early and I just thought of it), and of course the book thread that I still have loads to scan in still -as I have not really touched my books on the Wild West yet.

                    Update

This concept had been put on the backburner with some of the other technical priorites of the ACG/SZO at the time. This was and will be a good thing as it allowed me some time to think things through.

As time progressed the area got a partner - and as such we are working together to sort things through. The plans I outined earlier this year are going to be nixed --- and I think the general idea Mim and I have is to approach things (as far as folders go) in a more general context.

We had had some feedback for a NWTTA area (ok so I have not thought of an actual good title yet) - but a Naval folder ... and have been trying out different ways of making things fit. It is possible that a specific folder for that topic may not be workable (in that the general idea here is to make fewer folders more popular. )

The thinking also is that while the chronological approach works, it does lend itself to some areas that are pretty slow.

OK the point being - any input is welcomed, either post it here or PM either Avalon or myself.

                    Thanks for your time.
