      Wasn't there also an incident where a Sandy shot down a Mig-17? Maybe not as difficult as shooting down a plane in a Huey, but not easy either.

        A MiG might have had trouble flying slow enough to line up a shot on a Sandy. Shooting its cannon could have caused it to slow to stalling speed. Stranger things have happened.

          It was a pair of AD-1s from VA-176 LTJG Tom Patton was given credit for the kill.

                I believe it had ejection seats - my hight school JROTC instructor flew them in Vietnam with 1st Aviation Brigade and I remember him mentioning it. Was ejecting from a Mohawk somehow more dangerous than ejecting from an F4 or something?
