I didn't mean debate on the forum. I meant I promised my wife not to debate with what the guide might say that might not gibe with my experience there or the research I've done on the 1960-70 era on LZ Professional. But I will cheerfully offer him information from my perspective. Maybe my worries are for nothing, but I'm thinking about things such as inflated casualty figures, etc.

I want to lay some flowers at the spot in memory of all who died there, Vietnamese and American. We fly in to Hanoi, visit Ninh Binh caves, cruise Halong bay, visit what used to be the “panhandle” of North Vietnam, then on to Hue, Danang and Hoi An. From Hoi An we will go to LZProfessional to spend the day. Back to Danang to fly to Saigon. From there we will visit Cu Chi and have a river/ canal cruise in the Delta, then the flight home. So it’s a tourist visit with some war hilights along the way. They will be a guide that will explain LZ Professional history. Under my wife’s advice, I will avoid a debate. I won’t be a post though, I will volunteer information in a friendly helpful fashion, though.
that sounds incredible! I hope you have an enjoyable time

There's several ex-pat Marines and other GI(s) supposedly living in and around Danang. They've built a few "retirement communities" there and several of them live there. They've also built casino or two there at least I saw them about 3 years ago when I was there.
