New Site - PLEASE READ

Hello All,
My name is Ashley and I am the one that moved the forum to its new hosting location. This was done for security reasons and try to keep the forum from going down every other day. I understand that the new forum looks very different from the old one but I promise almost everything you had before you still have it might just be in a different place.

Items that are gone due to a limitation of the new hosting/ forum update:
- Awards
- Flags

As I was going thought your posts I was able to fix a lot fo the issues you were listing. Below is kind of a running list of issues an what is fixed and what I am still working on.

Items that I have fixed from your comments:
- Smilie are now working.
- Color/Theme changes
- Signature are now showing up. (Here is how to edit them https://screencast.com/t/OJHzzhiV1)
- Ranking is now showing up.
- Private messaging is now working.

Some issues I am still working on are:
- Missing items from the Calendar
- Like button the posts is giving an error.

If anyone has any issues that they are running in to please let me know. Please only send real issues not things like I hate the colors of the site or the site looks cheap now. I am trying to get as many issues fixed for you as i can and If i have to read through stuff like that it's going to take me longer to get stuff fixed.

  • July 8, 1969
    • The 3d Battalion, 60th Infantry from the 2d Brigade, 9th Infantry Division, departs RVN for CONUS from Tan Son Nhut Airbase. These are the first troops to leave country as part of the 25,000 troop reduction announced at the Midway Conference, to be effected before 31 August. The unit will move to Fort Lewis, Washington for inactivation at a later date.

    • At 1210, an element of the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, on Operation LAMAR PLAIN was ambushed by an estimated enemy company 14 miles southwest of Tam Ky in Quang Tin Province. Results were 2 enemy killed, 9 US KIA and 7 US WIA.

    • July 9, 1969
      • Operation UTAH MESA, a multi-battalion search and clear operation under control of the 3d Marine Division, terminates. Operation was conducted in an area centered 6 km northwest of Khe Sanh in Quang Tri Province. Results are 309 enemy killed, 7 detained, 35 US KIA and 178 US WIA.

      • At 1000 a convoy travelling from An Loc to Quan Loi detonated a land mine and was ambushed 4 miles north of An Loc, Binh Long Province. results were 22 enemy killed, 4 US KIA and 11 US WIA.

        I heard a blurb on the morning drive talk radio WGY this AM that today marks 50 years for the first two names (in 1959) on The Wall. Is that true?

          Yes, they were U.S. Army Maj. Dale Buis and Master Sgt. Chester Ovnand, both killed 8 July 1959.

                  • July 10, 1969
                    • Admiral J.S. McCain Jr., CINCPAC, arrives in RVN for a two-day visit.

                    • SLF ALPHA begins Operation MIGHTY PLAY between Marble Mountain and Hoi An to prevent rocket attacks on Da Nang.

                    • At 1555 the base camp of HQ 9th Infantry Division at Dong Tam in Dinh Tuong Province received 5 rounds of 107mm rocket fire. One of the rockets impacted near the out-processing center for soldiers being redeployed to the US. 2 soldiers died of wounds from the blast and 17 soldiers, 4 USN personnel and 1 VN civilian were wounded. One of those killed and seven wounded were members of the 4-47 Inf, which redeploys to the US Sunday (13th).

                    • July 11, 1969
                      • GVN President Nguyen Van Thieu calls for a national vote to settle the war and offers participation to all political parties and groups if they renounce violence and pledge to accept election results.

                      • At 1255 two elements of the 3d Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, while operating approximately 300 meters apart, both engaged an unknown size enemy force 32 miles southwest of Hue in Thua Thien Province and exchanged small arms fire. The enemy, who were also using RPGs, broke contact a short while later and withdrew, leaving 10 of its dead. US casualties were 16 KIA and 21 WIA.

                      • July 12, 1969
                        • The 4th Marines and 1st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division (Mech) begin Operation WILLIAMS GLADE between Mai Loc and Ba Long in Quang Tri Province.

                        • The 2d Brigade, 101st Airborne Division and 54th ARVN Regiment begin Operation CAMPBELL STREAMER to clear Elephant Valley south of the Bach Ma Mountain, Thua Thien Province.

                        • At 1915 troopers of the 198th Light Infantry Brigade, AMERICAL Division, whie moving to their NDP 8 miles northwest of Quang Ngai City detonated a land mine. 4 soldiers were killed and 24 wounded.

                        • At 1305, elements of the 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division engaged an unknown size enemy force 6 miles north east of Tay Ninh City. Results were 32 enemy killed, 4 US KIA and 18 US WIA.

                        • July 13, 1969
                          • It was announced that the first major increment of the 9th Regimental Landing Team of the 3d Marine Division, consisting of approximately 2,800 men, will depart RVN today, tomorrow and the following day. The main increment, the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, will depart Da Nang on 14 July for Okinawa.

                              • CJCS General Wheeler arrives in RVN for a four-day visit.

                              • 5RAR and the 15th ARVN ACS begin Operation INTRUDER in the Ba Ria area, Phuoc Tuy Province.

                              • The 4th Marines begins Operation GEORGIA TAR to monitor enemy activity between Khe Sanh and the Vandegrift Combat Base.

                              • The 3d Marines and 1st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division ( Mech) begin Operation IDAHO CANYON between Camp Carroll and the DMZ.

                              • Operation VIRGINIA RIDGE, a search and clear operation conducted by the 3d Marines, terminates. Operation commenced on 1 May 1969 and was centered in an area 7 km west-northwest of Cam Lo in Quang Tri Province. Results are 560 enemy killed, 17 detained, 106 US KIA and 490 US WIA.

                              • Operation HERKIMER MOUNTAIN, a search and clear operation conducted by the 4th Marines, terminates. Operation commenced on 9 May 1969 and was centered in an area 15 km north-northwest of Khe Sanh in Quang Tri Province. Results are 137 enemy killed, 66 detained, 25 US KIA and 219 US WIA.
